The Matthew Trust is a last-stop agency providing direct care. Grants are given only when all other avenues of funding are exhausted.
Applicants for grants must demonstrate either that no other avenue of funding is open to them, or that they have succeeded in getting their need part-funded.
Grants are made entirely at the discretion of the Director & the Client Care Team.
Grants are rarely made directly to the applicant; but through their representative. E.g. social worker, probation officer, community care worker, GP, agency worker.
Grants are made for a specific purpose and costed need. Invoices are required for all capital expenditure items.
